AICT Upgrades IT Training: MCITP Certification Track

About AICTNewsAICT Upgrades IT Training MCITP Certification Track

8 June, 2009

AICT has recently upgraded it's IT Training to the new Microsoft Certified IT Professional Certification Track, the MCITP is Microsoft's newest certification track and has been designed to replace the MCSA and MCSE certifications. MCITP is the only certification available on MS Windows Server 2008.

The major differences between the new MCITP track and the old MCSA/MCSE track is that under the old system, you earned certifications getting your MCP certification first, then your MCSA, after which you finally earn your MCSE. Previously, you could not earn your MCSE without completing the requirements for the MCSA. Now under the new system, these certifications have their own separate tests.

Microsoft states that the reasoning behind this is to show that the certifications are meant for different jobs - a server administrator focuses on operations and management while an enterprise administrator should be more of the architect and designer of the entire system.

The benefits of the new training are numerous:

• Companies are now advertising for staff with the new skill sets in Windows Server 2008
• Certification validates and gives managers proof of the expertise
• Staff can demonstrate professional credibility
• Formalised recognition of talent and skills
• Students who study now will have the certifications ready for when the economy picks up
• One of the top 10 IT Certifications worldwide.

AICT offers a range of courses on the MCITP Certification track, including the MCITP: Enterprise Support Technician certification.

The MCITP: Enterprise Support Technician certification validates that a professional has the knowledge and skills to support and troubleshoot the latest Microsoft Windows Vista operating system.
